Title: "Eureka!"
Tradition tells us that the ancient (circa, 300 B.C.) mathematician Archimedes coined the term - "Eureka!" One day while bathing, he suddenly realized the relationship between weight and volume and how it impacted water displacement. He was so excited he jumped out of the public bath and ran home naked shouting "Eureka, Eureka!" (which means "I have found it, I have found it!"). The term was used during the California Gold Rush when a miner found the ore he worked so hard to find. And it is still used today. Even the American Association for the Advancement of Science calls its breaking scientific news site "EurekAlert". In Luke 2:10 "For I bring you good tidings of great JOY which shall be to all people, for unto you this day is born a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord ..... you will FIND the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes lying in a manager" then the angels began to sing "Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to all mankind" The Shepherds went to Bethlehem and FOUND the Savior! I doubt if the Shepherds shouted out "Eureka, Eureka!" [smile] when they found Jesus - but the words "YOU WILL FIND HIM" certainly stand out to me! And in the practical fashion of Christ ... he can ALWAYS be found!! When we feel we want to be a part of His universal body - the fellowship of believers - we can FIND Him by simply asking Him to forgive our sins and trust in Him for the grace of salvation (No matter who or where we are!!). There are some who feel life is not worth living. Perhaps they feel alone or abandoned. I wish SO MUCH - in their despondency, that they could FIND Christ is real and experience His grace, love, counsel, and more. Merry Christmas! As we celebrate this wonderful season, what a GIFT from God it is, to know that Jesus can (always) be FOUND !
