Philippians 4:19 “My God shall liberally supply all your needs” (Amplified Version) Our 2nd son, Tim, was born in Edinburg, TX. We had one simple little problem - we needed a $100 for Dolores to enter the hospital because we did not have insurance. We did not have the money. 2 weeks before Tim was born we received a check for $100 from an auctioneer in Boyne City, MI. We have no idea how this man knew about our need - we had not told anyone. He had heard we were in Texas and wanted to help us. We had never met this man before, in fact we never met him. God supplied our need. The time came when we needed more room and a parsonage. We found an unfinished church one town away from McAllen. In fact it was barely started. It was actually somewhat of a duplex, with a place to hold church service on one end and living quarters on the other end. The bricks for the building were stacked all around but they needed to be put in place. It seemed to be the perfect building and location. We never asked for money but the Church gathered one night and discussed how we could possibly come up with $10,000 to purchase the building. Again we had few resources and the Church had no line of credit. In the meeting was a man we called “Bro Mac”. His name was Mr. MacDermott. Now let me tell you about “Bro Mac”. He was from one of the northern states and was a very good person. He appeared quite poor and lived a simple life in Texas. He slept with his cat in the back of his pickup (no joke). But in the meeting that night he said, “I can loan you the money”. It just about took our breath away. So he did and the Church paid back all the money! God supplied our need. One more thing I would like to mention; we had a beautiful family move from the Northwest down into the Rio Grande Valley and they landed at our Church and wanted to help in the ministry. I asked him what he did for a living. He replied, "I am a bricklayer." We had a building with tons of bricks - and God had sent us a bricklayer! God supplied our need. I will close with a little chorus we sang years ago .. it goes like this “Little is much when God is in it. Labor not for wealth or fame. There’s a crown and you can win it, if you go in Jesus’ Name”.
